Background
The Psychology of Anxiety Disorders is an educational video in the 12-week anxiety skills course offered at The Anxiety Treatment Center of West Michigan that helps students understand how anxiety disorders are conditioned and maintained. Anxiety disorders are often under-explained as a simple fight or flight response. However, there is a lot of psychology that goes into the development and maintenance of an anxiety disorder. Psychology is primarily the study of behavior and cognition and how our thoughts and behaviors can negatively condition us. Anxiety disorders are primarily a conditioned response through psychological processes. In this video, you will better understand how a conditioned anxiety response develops and what psychological factors contribute to the conditioning of an anxiety disorder.
