
Module 4: Belief Exposure and Neutralizing
Module 4 will begin the process of exposing you to your triggering anxious beliefs for the purposes of helping to be less affected by them in the future.
In this module, you will listen to your top three core beliefs over the course of a month and a half for the purposes of habituation and desensitization to your anxious core beliefs

Cognitive Exposures

Background: Cognitive exposures involve the process of repeatedly exposing oneself to the anxious core beliefs.
Cognitive Habituation

Background: Habituation in cognitive exposures is when a person gradually gets used to noticing and experiencing other anxiety-provoking core beliefs. As they become accustomed to encountering the anxious core beliefs, the beliefs begin to have less control over the anxiety-provoking behaviors that maintain anxiety.
Cognitive Desensitization

Background: Desensitization in cognitive exposures is when a person slowly becomes less sensitive or affected by their anxious core beliefs. By gradually facing their fear in a safe way, their emotional response gets weaker over time. This helps them feel calmer and less anxious when they encounter
Neutralizing Statements

Background: Neutralizing statements are an advanced CBT skill that can be targeted towards anxious core beliefs. Neutralizing statements over time make core beliefs less effective at triggering anxiety.
