Anxiety Treatment Program

Q.

How does the anxiety treatment program work?

A.

Clients work 1 on 1 with an anxiety specialist as they progress through 5 stages anxiety treatment program called Adaptive Anxiety Therapy. Clients meet every other week in person or via telehealth for structured anxiety therapy sessions that last between 40 min to 1 hour.

In-between sessions, clients complete homework that is required to move through the treatment program.  In addition, clients may actively engage in coaching via text messaging with their therapist in-between sessions for questions about homework or guidance for managing triggering anxious situations.

Q.

How does the anxiety treatment program help people with anxiety issues?

A.

Adaptive Anxiety Therapy is not a symptom-focused treatment program.  Symptom-focused interventions for anxiety often help in the short term, however, they mostly fail to help clients resolve their anxiety issues long-term as clients become overly dependent on outside factors to manage their anxiety.

Adaptive Anxiety Therapy is an evidence-based strengths-based program that teaches advanced cognitive behavioral therapy techniques for adapting to anxiety rather than managing anxious symptoms. Adaptive Anxiety Therapy empowers clients by teaching clients quickly deployable cognitive and behavioral skills that help clients become better adapted to anxiety rather than chase an endless cycle of anxiety symptom relief.

As clients become better adapted to their anxiety, they often experience much less mental, physical, and emotional distress when anxious and thus, experience an increase in quality of life when it comes to their anxiety.

Program Fees

Q.

Is insurance accepted for the anxiety treatment program?

A.

Our anxiety treatment program is not compatible with health insurance coverage due to its integrated treatment features. Integrated mental health programs offer more client support compared to standalone therapy sessions.

Mental health treatment programs that combine evidence-based therapy, psycho-education, & between session coaching are showing great promise for the treatment of mental health disorders. The Anxiety Treatment Center of West Michigans Adaptive Anxiety Therapy program is the next wave of evidence-based integrated treatment programs for anxiety disorders that combines these three components.

Therefore, we have decided to commit to effective anxiety treatment rather than delivering less effective anxiety services for the purposes of insurance coverage.
